When organizing an area, begin with what’s out on surfaces. It gives you an immediate feeling of accomplishment and it gives you room to take the next step; working on what’s underneath.
Desk top, then the drawers. If you don’t have time enough to complete the area, do one thing to move you closer to organization; just pull out anything from the drawers that you know is trash; and you’re done for today. Next time, pluck out anything that goes elsewhere, get it there; done for another day. Before you know it you’ll push through the last steps and have an organized desk.
